I need hugs! Lots of them!

This week has truly SUCKED! It started out on Monday morning with my boss informing me that we have to lay off two of our five department employees. Oh joy. The layoff happened on Tuesday, and there will be more to come. My job is very vulnerable right now, because with decreasing our staff by 40%, it has made our department VERY top heavy. I'm about to just say f*ck Corporate America and find something else to do.

Then yesterday my son calls. His best friend's apartment burned to the ground. Everyone got out alright, but they lost everything, and did not have renter's insurance. My sons's friend and his friend's brother are staying with my son right now, and their parents are at a relative's.

Then, this morning I got an email from one of my oldest and dearest friends. His nephew was murdered in a drive-by shooting last week and they just had the funeral yesterday.

Man, I don't think I can take any more bad news. So any good thoughts, messages, hugs, etc that you have, send them my way! Thanks.

It's been a horrible week and everyone around you is suffering directly, and you're so sensitive to others' needs that you are in pain as well.

4. Career change

I've been doing the same thing for 15 years now. I'm thinking it might be time for a career change, especially since so many jobs are going overseas and companies are slashing jobs left and right. But I have no idea what I might want to do, where I could still afford to pay my bills. I would love nothing more than to do website and runway BBW modelling fulltime, but I really need a steady paycheck and health insurance. I've been doing it part time right now.
