I can't stand the thought of a government that panders to a select few individuals just because these individuals happen to own large scale corporations. I can't stand that we as Americans let the oil companies and the car companies get away with killing a reliable short-range transportation source (electric cars) because less money would be made for them. I can't stand the fact that this country has one of the most inefficient and life threatening medical systems in the developed world and we spend the most money for that inefficiency.

Mostly, I can't stand the fact that we as citizens let our congresspeople get away with letting these corporations get away with screwing us over. Our greedy corporate overlords keep us all in the pisser and most of us would rather watch corporate owned television and vote in American Idol competitions than take the time and the effort to learn of what our government has let happen in our collective name.

Global warming is a looming threat but the media, at the behest of the corporations, has made it enough of a controversy that some people refuse to "believe" in it. Aside from the fact that global warming, evolution, and simple things like carbon dating have valid scientific backing that should give any thinking and reasoning person pause.

With the misplaced wars of aggression in Iraq and soon to be Iran, the world is quite simply going to hell in a hand basket at the behest of the United States. What can I, alone, do to halt this slide into our collective destruction? I don't have a real job, I can barely keep up with my student loan payments, and I live in ass backwards butt-fuck Idaho in a country that has a spineless legislature, a hawkish executive branch, and a stupid electorate spoon feed garbage from a corporate media. How do you even begin to fix that?

Do we work within the broken system and hope like hell that it's still workable enough to get us where we need to be? The human race prides itself on it's intellect, but if we allow the wool to be so easily pulled over our eyes how smart are we really?

I can see it all now... The liberal wing of the country takes to the streets. Little girl looks out a car window, "Look mommy, what are those people doing?" Mother looks out the window at the fifty protesters, "I don't know dear but the news will probably have something about it tonight." Cut to the corporate owned media news hour, "Spineless, weak willed Democrats took to the streets today to protest the actions of our great and charismatic leader George W. Bush. Mr. Bush took the brave and noble action of using a nuclear bomb in Iran because some of their leaders made a strange face in his direction." Looks over at his co-anchor, "I don't know about you Linda, but I want to know why they hate Freedom and Peace so much." "I know Bob, damn dirty liberals." "In other news Exon Mobile posted profits exceeding $36 billion in the first quarter. I would like to take a moment to congratulate Exon on this great stoke of luck and I for one am happy to be paying $5 a gallon for gasoline instead of the $.15/kwhr I could otherwise being paying for an electric car."

Later that month.... "Hello America. I'm Bob," "And I'm Linda," "We're reporting to you from K-GOP news. Today our great president had the foresight to cancel the federal elections because of the Democrat protest three weeks ago." America rolls over in it's sleep as the citizenry watches American Idol with their mouths hanging open unaware of the constitutional crisis around them. George Bush declares himself emperor and puts all of the liberals in the land to death while the rest of the country shrugs and buys more plastic wrap and duct tape to protect themselves from a nonexistent threat to their wellbeing.

Yep.... That about sums it up.
