My laptop has directional issues...
I have found that when I'm in my living room it doesn't pick up the wireless signal unless I turn it in a certain direction...

That direction being at a 90 degree angle to me....

It does make it weird working with it!

But at least the signal comes in! :silly:

Have any of you experienced anything like this?

1. Why not move the couch 90 degrees?

3. Well........because I like it where it is!
That's why!

It's against a nice wall........

It's not really a big deal to shuffle my laptop around...

I just thought it was weird that it was so directional!

2. No. The problem I do have is that there are several other wireless
routers owned by my neighbors, and several times a day, I get kicked off MY router and one of the neighbors' routers tries to assimilate my computer. The signal is quite weak when that happens. I end up having to disconnect from their systems and reconnect to mine. Not the end of the world, of course, but really irritating. x(

4. My dear SeattleGirl!
Ugh, that sounds worse!

There is one other wireless network that shows up on my laptop, but I ignore it...

It doesn't try to kick me off my own, anyhow...

Wish there were something you could do about those other routers near you...

5. Me too. I wonder if there's a way to block them.
Which I knew who owned the two that are the most guilty of kicking me off. I'd ask them to security-enable them, so that a person would need a password to log on to the network. There are two others that show up but don't kick me off, because I would have to know the security password. Oh well. What's a girl gonna do?

6. Does yours have a security password?
Mine does...

I don't really understand a lot of this wireless stuff.......

But I do enjoy having a computer downstairs...as well as my desktop upstairs!
