She finally got her epidural and wants to take a nap and rest up for the next stage. Everyone got kicked out of the room and I ran home to pick up my camera and kill an hour or so.

I'm going to head back, now. I'm glad the hospital is only about a mile and a half away and I have a fairly fuel efficient car; I actually work there, so this is my third time driving up there today.

I am not at all sure I would know what to say when this actually does happen other than, "Wow," or "Gee," or something inane.

I never hang up the phone without an "I love you," and a smooch--in fact my co-worker says I've said it a time or two to one of or another of the doctors I work for, though I think she imagined it. But sometimes I forget to say it in person as often as I could.
