...and I can't stop. I think "Year Zero" will go down as my all-time favorite Nine Inch Nails CD. Un-freakin-believable piece of work.

1. I guess I need to listen to it more. I only listened to it once so far.
I saw NIN twice last year in concert and kind of got burnt out on them.

2. A friend of mine, also a NIN fan, made an interesting observation...
...he thinks "Year Zero" is so good only because "With Teeth" was so bad. I hadn't thought of it like that, but perhaps there is some truth to it. It did pretty much suck.

from it performed live, with the accompanying anti-war videos he had going on simultaneously, I learned to enjoy them more. I haven't listened to "Year Zero" only because i haven't listened to ANY music much lately. I will probably listen to it today! :D

I still like "Pretty Hate Machine" the best.

9. I liked With Teeth (but I've always been subliminally narcissistic)
He could not have made this album without making that one.

I suggest re-listening to "Every Day is Exactly the Same," "Sunspots," and "The Line Begins to Blur." With Teeth was a very existential album and so individuals who haven't undergone total crisis's before probably had difficulty latching on to the dominant motif: namely the human condition.

8. I knew I would get addicted.
So I held off listening until finals were over...I just went youtubing and my fucking god I think I've found God. The sad thing is that if you read the amazon reviews the people who need this album the most are entirely delusional about what's going on.

11. I had just gotten unhooked
when my DH asked to borrow my copy of the CD. Then he got hooked. Now we're both back on it.

I got the sheet music... fun to play!

12. You don't need help
Many if us have had similar experiences. For me it was Pink Floyd's "The Wall" when I was young, lately it has been Green Day's "American Idiot" and Marilyn Manson for me. Nine Inch Nails is damned good too.
