Barrel cactus with fruit

Will this foil deter the Lesser Chickadee?

Cute feral couple, but they are hurting my sunflowers

I like the view from my garden easy chair:

1. Everything's doing quite nicely, I'd say, Ptah!
Is the foil keeping the chickadees away?

Is the barrel cactus fruit edible or does it just look pretty?

3. I won't know for a few days whether the chickadees are still raiding my patch.
The cactus fruit is good for jelly and other sweet concoctions.

2. Beautiful
I've never seen that barrel cactus before, very nice. Let me know how the foil works.

My passionflowers are coming up now and the 'stalks' are thicker this year, they are about 2 feet tall and standing straight up and they have really spread, I'm going to have tons of them this year if all goes well. :hi:

5. thepassion flowers came from one little vine with
one bloom that I dug up from a ditch right beside the highway I live off of. I planted them next to where some carpenter bees live and they love carpenter bees even more than honey bees, but I didn't know that, it was just a coincidence. And now they shoot right up out of the ground every year about this time, it's amazing...the bees are what have given them such abundance. Yes, keep us posted. :)
