fires are an integral part of the ecosystem in southern California.

Maybe God didn't want so many people to be living there.

(Of course, that doesn't stop me from having heat-attack-level worries when I hear about fires in Moorpark, where the #2 Love of My Life (after Mrs R) lives.)
