I hate 60s and 70s drama/mystery/spy shows

They always talk of not letting 'the enemy' acquire technology, or how 'the enemy in "that country" is doing nuclear testing' and other ambiguous fluff.

Yet there are other moments when the same episodes have that "one day we'll be friends" world peace optimism as well.

Actually, I'll always prefers 60s and 70s drama and fiction over today's. Today's stuff has to be campy, doom-laden and doesn't know how to take itself seriously. Even the campiest of 70s ideas (such as 'The Bionic Woman') take themselves seriously and even the most topical (for 1976) of episodes always have a positive spin on events; not the doom and gloom of pretty much everything today. Mind you, there's not much made today I've bothered with and I've probably watched all the wrong stuff at just the wrong times to end up this biased...
