What TV show did a friend turn you onto that you're grateful for?
My friend, Robert, turned me and my better half onto Scrubs. I'd never seen it before and it didn't seem like something I'd be interested in. He kept raving about it and told me just to try to watch one of the repeats. So we watched what was an early episode from season 2. And laughed. And laughed. And cried. And laughed some more.

Now we have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and are very grateful to Robert for his suggestion.

She asked me to watch an episode and tell her what happened. I haven't missed one since. That was two years ago.

9. Oh--I loved Firefly!
My husband turned me on to it. It was off the air by then and (this is only one reason I love this man so much) he had downloaded ALL the episodes before he showed me the first one.

I am SO peeved by how they ended Serenity...

5. Dead Like Me
She had the first season on DVD. She told me I had to watch it because the main character Georgia reminded her so much of me when I was younger. LoL.

I fell for the show...too bad it was after it was already cancelled.

6. I love it!
I've seen the first 2 episodes and got hooked!

I bought season 2 (cheap) but refuse to watch it until I find season 1.

10. The Simpsons
First season I wasn't watching it. I didn't like some of the promos, for some stupid reason. Then my friend said I was nuts, that it was exactly the type of wacko comedy I preferred. Took me 20 seconds to realize he was correct.

He was a great guy, brave and responsible. Unlike that Youssarian, who's always causing trouble.

33. Me too.
The irony is the first episode he had me watch was the one where Chase was in trouble for killing the guy while grieving for his dad, and House was rather subdued in that episode. But I continued to watch after that anyway.

I had great success turning people on to Arrested Development and Entourage. No luck getting anyone to see Veronica Mars despite it being one of the best shows on tv.

37. Yeah
My coworkers talked about it so much I finally watched the first 17 episodes online and got caught up. It's so good, but so complicated... and this season is NOT the end, although I wish it were too, because it's going to be hard to keep up the interest and the twists for many seasons.

Although all of the leading cast (except Tina Fey) annoys me, their characters (except for Jane Krakowski's waste of space) are incredibly funny.

41. American Idol (ducking)
A friend of mine knows a season 4 contestant and was in the audience one week. I'd managed to avoid it up til then, but I grudglingly agreed to watch. Fell hard for one of the singers and stuck around and now I'm addicted. Some days I'm grateful because she indirectly turned me on to a few singers that I LOVE, but other days I curse her. LOL
