I just had to give sever ties to my crazy fundie MIL after she insisted on continuing to send me racist and hostile emails. I responded respectfully to all her messages, without making personal attacks, asking her to refrain from including me on this stuff.

Her response "I PUT NO VALUE ON YOUR OPINION" and she continues to send the crap.

I had to call DH and ask him to tell her to back the f*&k off before I really lay into her crazy, freeper, fundie self.

I feel like shit now.

3. I have tolerated it for so long, always asking her very nicely

to refrain. Anytime I get even remotely forceful about it, she calls DH and tells him that I am mean to her.

Thank goodness she lives thousands of miles away.

She has never set foot in my house, and after today, she never will.

I still feel bad that it had to erupt like this though. Why couldn't she just stop???

2. Ask her, "If you don't value my opinion, why send me this stuff?"

Also, inform her that any and all emails sent from her address will be deleted and never read.

5. I am having problems blocking her emails from my work

since we have a server that is in another state - I am not technologically advanced, so I can't really answer why.... Anyhow, she is blocked from all my other emails now and I forwarded all her crap to DH, his sister, and the other people that she includes on her original emails (she leaves them out of it when she personally attacks me).

13. you did the right thing

I almost had to beat up a close friend of mine because of stuff like that. We had some arguments over the Iraq War etc. A few times he's gone too far saying things, and once, he really went off. I can't remember what exactly, something racial plus a few other things, but he started trying to condescend to me about something and I blew up at him. I mean you can only take so much, if we had been in person and not on the phone, I would have made him step outside with me. We pretty much still get along, but we don't really associate much anymore, other than a call or from time to time. If he brings up polics I say benign stuff and move on quick, otherwise it will escalate quickly.

You don't need that sort of thing in your life. MIL or not, if somebody is harassing you and effecting your life, you just have to cut them loose. And if she wants to make up, well, she's the one who has the changing to do. :hug:

17. I have already lost my best friend from college to this crap

since she became a * loving fundie. Now this.... I do feel like I did the right thing, and since she felt the need to involve the entire family as well, I have recieved emails of support from my SIL and her husband saying "It's too bad she doesn't know how to play well with others" :rofl:

I have blocked all her stuff now - let her just get the "blocked sender" response from now on...

And yes, it really does suck that she is so insensitive. I have told DH that if there is to be a resoloution to this, I will have to be assured that the personal attacks will end completely - not just for a couple of weeks - and I will continue to reject her email for a time yet to be determined. I don't know that I EVER want to open myself up to that garbage again, and since she is not Little MB's grandmother, I don't feel bad if I never see her again. Ouch - I guess I am still bitter.
