12. That's why I said the hint would be worthless
Here's another worthless hint: a Bottomland Spirit Gourd appears on the cover of the album whose liner notes are the source of the original quote.

14. The guy's biggest hit didn't exist
That is, it was a song he performed in a fictional movie, and it was related to teenage cruelty.

15. Hmmm....this is puzzling...that band from "Out of the Blue"?
I'm unclear...Lydon was in band at some point and not the pistols or PIL?

16. Not related to Out of the Blue
To clarify, Johnny Rotten and the person in question both performed on albums by the same band, but it's debatable as to whether or not they were ever official members of the band.

20. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner
Dixon and Rotten both performed songs with the Golden Palominos. Dennis Hopper mutters "A little older and a little more confused" at the beginning and ending of the Golden Palominos album Blast of Silence.

Dixon's fictional hit was "Teenage Suicide: Don't Do it" in the movie Heathers.

The quote in question is his comment about his cover of the Peter Holsapple song Bad Reputation.

23. The Palominos were obscure despite having famous personel
That was one of their many charms. Which album did you have? Visions of Excess with Rotten or Blast of Silence with Dixon? They're both on my list of the greatest albums ever.

Yes, I found some Dixon CDs at a used record store, which inspired my post.
