You should go see The Stooges if they come to your town...
One of the best Rock & Roll outfits I've ever seen...

Saw them Sat. night-even the new songs are good...

Iggy will not let you leave until he has personally proven to you that Rock & Roll is alive and well...He rocks, he WILL make YOU rock, the whole place was rockin!!!

They sounded and like they were 25 years old-Iggy still dances and stage dives- he made ME feel old- and he is twice my age... and they reduced the entire audience to dumbstruck 15 year old teenagers...I felt like I was in high-school at a punk show or something...

Close your eyes & it's probably the closest thing to going back in time and hearing a 60's garage band, or an early Punk act...

You dont even have to be a huge fan or anything to enjoy the energy, I would imagine.

Yup- that good. If you miss this, it will be a real shame.

3. Curly: "Hey- that Fish looks like Moe" - Larry: "It IS Moe!!!"
I'd imagine that for some reason, most people who like the band probably also love the comedy act.

If there were guys besides Shemp funnier than the 3 Stooges, I've never seen them.

4. Well, it really is only 3 of them now...
So the name fits even better than ever...

And they were/are indeed obvious fans of the original 3 Stooges...

Who isnt? No one I want to hang out with...

5. I'd go see 'em, but only to see Mike Watt play bass.
I'm really tired of "legendary" rock bands reforming in their august years - they never REALLY can kick it out like they used to; plus which, when it's supposed "indie" or "alternative" bands doing it (yes, I'm talking about you, Pixies, Velvets, and Mission of Burma!), all they're doing is selling nostalgia to an audience that prides itself on its aversion to nostalgia, thus turning both parties into just another "hand-as-dealt" (Phrase courtesy of R. Meltzer)

6. I can tell you did not see the show. See it, then come back and tell me that.

Normally you would be right, but I was not puffing my description of the show. I saw the Pixies- and yeah, they just went through the motions for the cash.

Not so with the Stooges-Nothing Autumnal about the show, in sound or visually. From where I sat, Iggy still looks & acts 25. Like I said, close your eyes and you are at some teen-age punk show.

Mike Watt is nothing but an asset, I'll give you that- funny, cuz he looks and acts more worn out than the original Stooges!!!

Nostalgia? Considering that I was a baby when the Stooges broke up, it's not about that for me. I went expecting an average show with some good songs and instead got my face peeled back over the top of my skull. Music from the 60's & 70's isnt nostalgic for me- it's about good songs.

I'm sure there are new bands out there that could do it just as well, but I've never seen them. Guided By Voices comes close- but they are no Stooges.
