What is the thread count of your sheets?
I used to buy inexpensive sheets, but then I tried some nice ones. I'll never go back.

400 - 1000.

I put the 400 & 600 in the guest room. I keep the 800 & 1000 for my room. :loveya:

7. Have some 400, 700, and 1000s
The 1000s are really stiff. I love my 700 sateens. Luxourious!! If you want good quality sheets at bargain prices, may I suggest www.smartbargains.com. You can get killer sheets there. Again I recommend the high thread sateens.

Egyptian cotton.

I just got two sets -- one red and one black -- and I am in love with them. I went all-out with my bed and bedroom set in my new place, because I have always had sleep trouble and I reasoned that every little bit helps, and the sheets were expensive, to my mind (I think $65 apiece on eBay...probably a good price for them, though), but well worth it and likely to last a very long time. They're heavy, soft, and thick, and feel like heaven.

I never thought I'd find myself extolling the virtues of thread counts in sheets, let alone raving about them in a manner reminiscent of Christopher Lloyd's character in Back To The Future (or, perhaps, Christian bale's in American Psycho), but this has gone far beyond mere infatuation. I've made some great purchases lately, but these sheets rank high on the list of wise buys.

I got a 3" memory foam topper for the top of a fairly cheap mattress (my reasoning being that the mattress could be a slab of concrete and the foam would make it nice) and on top of that I put a nice mattress pad from Costco (100% cotton, 400 thread count), and before I got my new sheets in the mail I slept for a while with my regular old sheets (I'm guessing 200 thread count). When I replaced my old sheets with the new ones, the difference was incredible. yes, the mattress pad and topper make a huge difference, but a big chunk of the preternatural comfort my new bed has is attributable to the 1200-count sheets. They really do make a huge difference. I hate to leave my bed, even more than usual. It was well worth the expense and I submit that a fairly effective way to vastly improve sleep or comfort in abed would be to get a memory foam topper (they're available for about $80-100 in queen size) and a set of sheets with 1000 thread count or more....600 thread count (there're some of these at Costco right now) might also do the trick quite nicely, I'd guess.

I love 1200 count. I love cotton. And I love Egyptians.

I want my sheets to be the mother of my children...

14. 400 thread count 100% cotton.
I never buy sheets that are not 100% cotton. Thread count doesn't matter if it's a poly blend!
