Not completely. I think it's important you both work out. It's good for your health (obviously), your attitude, your response to stress and your sex life. However, if you have different workout styles/schedules, trying to do it together can add more stress (I run, Mrs. av8rdave is a walker).

I do, but sadly probably not in our lifetimes. Each "baby step" builds on the earlier ones, but unfortunately I think it takes generations to change a society.

*It's great if you and your SO have common interests, but it's CRITICAL you have some of your own. I learned that from my parents, who shared every hobby/avocation they had. When my mom passed away, suddenly none of those things had any appeal to my dad. He just couldn't stand doing any of them without my mom. Now he has very few special interests of his own to enjoy in his later years. I know it's not really my place to give advice...just something I picked up from observing.

I think your trainer has control issues, though he's probably right - generally, doing *anything* together that isn't dysfunctional helps make the family stronger, whether camping or working out or playing cards. But working out together has the included sense of taking care of each other's health together, which has that extra element of love and nurturing to it.

3. We used to joke that our family was so small we could hold reunions in a phone booth, back when there were phone booths. Basically there's Mom in NYC, a great-aunt in Seattle, and yours truly -- not really conducive to working out together.

I pray that we will...I don't think it will be in my lifetime but I hope we will continue to work towards a just society for all races, creeds, colors, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, whatever. There is so much more that we have in common than divides us.

Don't carry one. I have sufficient little pockets in my purse to hold cash/cards/small items, so I have very little that's loose in there. I hate carrying large purses so I try to keep things as compact as possible.
