Just did somethin' I'm kinda proud of
I've had this old clock for years — just never got around to hanging it when I moved here. But with all the spring cleaning and sprucin' up...

It's German-made and keeps excellent time if you wind it once a week. It has an audible tick but not too loud and it chimes on the quarter-hour, or you can set it for no chime. Mostly, though, I think it gives the joint some class. :D

(The cross-braces are fugly, but they were necessary because, o' course, there wasn't a stud in the center where I wanted to mount it.)

1. What a pretty clock.
If you paint the cross braces they won't be so noticeable.

2. Very nice!
And I agree; paint the cross-braces so they aren't as noticeable.

5. You can do away with the braces
Go get some metal wallboard anchors. Not the plastic ones - they won't hold something like that clock well. But they do make metal ones that are about an inch and a half long and spread out in a 6-8 point star pattern to provide excellet support.

And, they will cost you like 1.99 for a bag of them. Much nicer looking than those braces.

6. Good job!
I have so many "little things" like that to do at my house. I'm trying, though!

8. A real clock that you actually have to wind. I like that.
