I just got off the phone with my mom. She had extensive surgery on her foot a couple of weeks ago (major hardware, etc). Apparently somehow the wound opened up today, and she is being sent in for emergency surgery (trying to catch the surgeon between surgeries).

Not sure what the long term prognosis is. She will be in the hospital for a few days getting antibiotics etc.
