The only Players cigarettes I've ever had were the classic unfiltered "Navy Cut"; okay, but nothing to write home about. Felt the same way about Dunhills--Virginia tobacco is a bit bland, to my taste. Turkish Specials, now--THOSE are some damned fine cigarettes.

I have smoked Ducados (Spanish, black tobacco, harsh as hell), and unfiltered Gauloises Caporals (also black tobacco, also harsh). Virginia, in comparison, is pretty smooth (even unfiltered English Ovals), and Turkish is so smooth you don't even feel it on the inhale (not to mention it's got a taste that you're probably familiar with if you ever smoked English pipe blends--spicy and rich); it's my preferred smoke these days...down to five to ten a day, and I don't see any point in smoking bad cigarettes.
