S-M-R-T!

I use the delay brew function on the coffee maker so I can come downstairs to delicious, piping hot coffee in the morning. This morning, it was not, in fact, piping hot.

Couldn't figure out why. Then, after an hour of wondering what was up, I remembered that yesterday morning the power went out for a second and I forgot to reset the delay brew time on the coffee maker.

So yeah. I guess if it's been sitting in the thing since Midnight, it's going to lose some heat. :D

(It's in a stainless steel pot and it turns itself off after brewing, so there was no danger in it going off at Midnight.)

Oh well. Better luck next time.

1. Our first home had a "coffee switch" in the master bedroom.

It activated an outlet in the kitchen. The previous owner was an ER surgeon and had this installed when the house was built and, as a working musician with similar weird hours, I used it all the time! Get everything ready before you crash, wake up and hit the switch, take a shower, and coffee is waiting for you!
