Are you a dog person...or, a cat person?
Me, I'm a dog person. :-) I've had a couple of cats in my life...and, they were great friends...but, dogs seem to suit my personality more. I've had 2 dogs...and, they're terrific companions. But, they need just a little more care and attention.

It seems when you have dogs...your life revolves around theirs! That's okay! If you love your dog...and, your dog loves you...well, you will do anything for each other.

Most people should endeavor to have the compassion, love, devotion, and curiosity of my dog (or, any dog!).

My current canine, a Tibetan Terrier, was adopted through rescue from the local society. He was one year old and needed a loving home. I think he found it. We're friends for life!

So, what's your preference?

:D

1. No preference here. I like them equally.
I can't have a dog where I live, but I do have a very sweet cat and two bouncy ferrets.

So said the "How Evil Are You" test I took last night.

I'm "Happily Evil" in case anyone was curious.

5. Don't I know it!
They got into their box of raisins tonight. Luckily I caught them before they ate the whole thing. I love the little buggers, though.

7. Always wanted a ferret
But everyone I know who has had one, their place smelled o'ferret. Please tell me there's a way around the horrendous smell.

9. I'm used to it, so I don't smell it anymore.
Cleaning their cage once a day and washing their bedding often helps cut down on da funk, but they always have kind of a skunky odor. They shouldn't be bathed too often because their skin dries out, but a bath usually helps with the stink. Folks can usually tell when I've been holding my carpet sharks. When I first got ferrets, I thought the smell was intolerable. Now I find it kind of comforting and it makes me smile. I know that sounds nuts.

17. Carpet Sharks
Perfect name.

I had a friend who had them (when I was a kid) and they would run up my back and one would steal my PBJ while the other stuck its nose in my ear(?). I was always wary of them because I got the feeling that however nice they were to me, I was being set up for the big score. Extremely opportunistic little beasties, but at least they were good at it.

Cats are wonderful, but I'm a dog person and this a a dog household in a dog neighborhood. The only cats are feral and dangerous.

He's a five year old springer spaniel named Champ.

10. Dog person..
all cats do is sleep. They're boring. (unless they're kittens)

Dogs like to have fun and run around and such. :)

12. I'm Bi
I appreciate the very unique qualities of both animals. They are really a gas to observe. Their emotions run deep but are expressed in entirely different terms.

I just got a dog for the first time in two years and it is quite a trip after ONLY relating to cats during this time frame.

19. I've never understood the cat "thing".
When you say "come" or "psst" for 12 years to a cat, how can it still look you right in the eye and say "fuck you" ?

28. Because the servant doesn't command the master.
The "fuck you" is because you are, apparently, incredibly dense enough not to have learned your place in 12 whole years of lessons!

I love both cats and dogs. My dog is my most faithful, loving, and constant companion. That includes the humans in my life. My cats are partners that share the place with me. I wouldn't presume to suggest to them that they do anything; I'm a well trained cat servant. Part of why I love them is their refusal to be dictated to. Like me. Come to think of it, the only people who've ever dictated to me successfully were cats!

I love all dogs, but have a preference for Rottweilers. My Rotti, Legend, is my best friend. And she is one spoiled, rotten Rottie.

30. I thought I was a dog person...
until I got cats....now there's no competition!

Plus, they elected me the cat god about 12 years ago...so I gotta go with my people...

Now, whenever I run into a cat, they just come up to me, even if people tell me that their cats dont like anyone else...

Also, I walked into a pet store, and a cat on the counter reared up on its hind legs and started moving its paws at me like it was doing the worship wave....so somehow cats selected me as the god of cats

All Hail the Cat God Nazgul35!!!

35. I switched...
I had a cat for 15 years. About a year after she died, a very cute and very abandoned 7 week old puppy found me in the park.

It's been almost 8 years and Alex is still with me and still awesome.

I still like cats, but Alex doesn't, so I guess I'm a dog person for now.
