4. I can't watch it anymore, to long.
I watched something on Encore, some western.

Then Sin City, and now Sling Blade.

What an exciting evening.

9. I've
never watched a full Oscar show. Haven't watched any part of one in about 10 years.

Exciting, indeed! :P

I've had a busy day, so I just wanted to relax tonight. :hi:

Can't sit through that anymore...too many interruptions, too much glorification of the industry, too much fawning.

Congrats to the winners for the recognition, but I'm fine just reading the synopsis next day. Same with all awards shows.

10. Not Me... Just Came To Take A Peek To See Who Won...
I rarely go to movies and wasn't sure when Al Gore would be up to get an Oscar, so decided I would wait a while.

Other than Gore I don't have much of an idea about any of it. I stopped watching them years ago.

Personally, I'm not sure anything could top '03, but now I will be curious to see if this one was at all interesting. I've liked virtually all the Oscar ceremonies I've watched, save for the teeth-grindingly uncomfortable '05 one (also, I was pissed that nobody and nothing I love won anything that year) and the "dear God, is it over YET???" '94 one.

52. Nothing really big happened, just a lot of little things. The Al Gore appearance
and the awards for "An Inconvenient Truth" were a highlight, but there were many other small highlights. People on other boards were complaining that the show was boring, but I was never bored (except during a few of the acceptance speeches where they bascially recite a list of people they want to thank.)

I played Big Kahuna and the watched the L Word. I only watch for the dresses, and E! will be endlessly replaying the red carpet and the aftershow bitch-fest, so I'm happy. I read the NY Times style thing this morning, because, even though I may dress like a trucker, I need my fashion dammit!

38. I did not watch.
The clothes are always featured in programs the next day, as well as show clips of anything particularly interesting.

Last night I watched "Grease: You're The One That I Want" and then turned the TV off.

Wanted to, though. I used to watch the danged thing from pre-show fashion cattiness to the bitter end, no matter how long it was. I used to LOVE the Oscars.

Now, however, there's a toddler commandeering the TV before his bedtime, then his (long, drawn-out) bedtime ritual, and then what's the point--by the time I get to the TV, I've hit the technical awards.

Besides, I haven't seen a movie in theaters in years, so I barely know what they're talking about. I am so behind the times. Gasp! I'm old and irrelevant! Where has my cool quotient gone? Dropped to the sub-basement, I fear!

Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 11:25 AM by dropkickpa
me and my friends would have an oscar party every year starting from the first moment of red carpet coverage.

The kid was watching TV of and on yesterday for most of the day (and trashing my living room with various art supplies) so I even missed the red carpet stuff. The last movie I saw in the theater? Night at the Museum (I don't think it was nominated). Before that? Some other kids movie. I just wait for them to come out and netflix 'em.

*edited - damn my fingers and their inability to hit the right key!!!

43. Huh? Was it on last night? Dang ...
I missed it.

Somehow I figured Gore had a lock on the documentary award. He's got a lock on the 2008 election if he decides to run.

For some reason, I was really beat, so I decided to go to bed - the awards can be handed out without me.

I don't know who won most of the stuff, but I feel well-rested. :)
