we had unbelievable winds here in NorthTexas yesterday, and most of West Texas was being carried in on them. We were out around 1 or 2 oclock and you could not see anything at a distance at all. Normally I can see about 2 miles from the hill on Overton looking toward Bryant Irvin and I could not see 1/2 mile. Downtown FW was a fond memory from the interstate bridge. You could look straight at the sun w/o sunglasses and the sky was a sort of muddy beige color. This went on for maybe 2 or 3 hours. Very nasty. YUCK. I think most of the topsoil in the panhandle is now somewhere in East Texas.

1. Yuck is right!

Not only does it deposit dust and dirt everywhere,
it's hell for people with allergies and asthma.

I hope your air is clear today.

2. We did here in OK, too.
It was really bizarre! All I could thing of was those poor souls who lived through worse during the Dust Bowl.

3. We had this snowy/sleety/dirt
combo. Mr 'pede went to our vet to pick up the horse liniment he got him for his feet (diabetes) and when he came out he wondered how someone had taken our white car and replaced it with a brown one.

5. Then It All Came Here Too!
half of west texas must have come through Arkansas. I was driving down the interstate and it hit plastering the car with particulate matter- dust/dirt

then the sky turned yellow/dusty, the sun went away

lots of wind, big wind

So it's gone past East Texas.
