actually paid operatives who are trying to make Jehovah's Witnesses unpopular with the general public?

1. They have nothing to lose

They have no popularity to begin with. So there's nothing to lose. Maybe some people actually talk with them.
I'm usually polite with them, just tell them I'm not interested. And they politely leave. No hassle.

5. Criminy, they've started doing telemarketing here!

I've had three phone calls by people wanting to leave a spiritual message with me. The first two were messages on the machine, so they left an address, where I could go if I want to learn more...the local Kingdom Hall. The third time, I recognized the voice and told him no, and to please take me off his list.

My earliest childhood memory of "another religion" is how
angry my mother was when the JWs at the door wanted her to
pray with them, in order to pray a dead baby's soul into heaven.

She pitched a wall-eyed fit and screamed, "What is wrong with you people!?"

I'll never forget that day.

Today, I respect the JWs' right to believe whatever they want, but
I have to control my anger when I see them walking down my street.

8. A great solution to the JW

When they knock,open the door fall to your knees and praise the lord. Then tell them you've been praying for someone to pay your rent, car payment or whatever you feel best about. Then tell them the lord has sent them to save you being evicted and invite them in. My crusaders left quick.

I did it once after a visit every week. I was off the "stopby" list fast.
