Some guy jumped off the roof of my girlfriends building last night.
So last night at around 12:15 my girlfriend and I were in bed. She lives on the top floor of an apartment building. We hear someone stomping around on the roof. It sounded like the person fell a couple times. Then we hear a loud noise on my girlfriends fire escape. I look out the window and I see someone climb through the window next door. The drop from the roof to the fire escape is around 15 feet. I called the cops because I didn't know if the guy next door was crazy enough to do that. It turns out he is. He locked his keys in his apartment, and decided to go in through the window. What a nut case.

1. Maybe a considerate person ...
Didn't break the door jamb, didn't wake the Super, worst case it cost him a pane of glass. Not a bad solution. He probably thought he could land quietly on the fire escape (ninja-style)

2. He IS the super
His window was unlocked. He opened it and crawled in.

4. He is a super...not a superhero!
Let him know that it is better to place a spare key, (for both car and house), in one's wallet. This is far better than playing Batman in the middle of the night and risking getting the cops called! (Likely much safer too)

5. Well, then he was trying to avoid embarrassment
of calling the owner.

Almost made a clean entry into his apartment with no loss of face. Almost, that is, except for you, the gf, the cops with flashing lights, the neighbors wondering about all the fuss, etc.

I thought Supers always lived in the basement or on the ground floor, to keep an eye on comings and goings. Another stereotype demolished.
