2. Maybe it is because you are focused when dancing?
I think much of my clumsiness can be attributed to absentmindedness.

13. Me, too. My dna seems to include great muscular memory.
Like in dance or in painting with no drop cloth or tape. But, am totally klutzy too in random situations. Just avert your eyes and move along, lol.

3. I think I fall into the 2nd category.
I often ricochet off things as I walk, such a door frames, tables, bureaus and the like. I have been known to on occasion walk into sign poles (yes, some of us have actually done that).

If I ever had an inner dancer, he's in triage right now.

5. I hold the distinct privilege of having...
fallen up a flight of stairs...please don't ask.

fallen into a uncovered baseboard radiator and severed a vein.

Gored myself on a lawn reindeer.

Fallen through a table at a HS dance.

Fallen though the floor in my fraternity house.

Tripped over a line painted on the sidewalk.

Fell into the fridge at work which closed behind me.

Slipped on the top marble step of the university administration building and slid into a priest. (although I tell people that one was intentional)

Slid down Marist hill on Catholic University's campus and bowled through a crowd of people.

Fallen down the Georgetown steps.

I've since invested in non-slip soles.

7. I think I'm rubber or something.
I've never even broken a bone...except my nose and that was because I got punched in a football fight in HS.

19. Funny now...
It wasn't then. I nearly bled to death and because of where it went in they were discussing amputating my left (dominant) arm. Oh and I was 7.

That said, I'd laugh my ass off if I saw someone else do it.

20. I'm only klutzy when I'm in the public eye
~sigh~

Once when I worked at the greyhound track, I had a dog that fell during the race. He wasn't hurt but he stopped and was wandering around near the finish line so I went to get him. It was a busy night, stakes race or something, the grandstand was full and the lights on the finish line were still on when I got his collar and lead on and began walking up the track with him, in full view of everyone.

I let his lead slip through my hand - unfortunately it was a short lead and plunked out of my hand into the dirt. I leaned forward to grab it and did a faceplant right at the finish line - there's probably a photo-finish picture of me somewhere like that.

And then there was the time at one of my father's many weddings (the man thinks he's Mickey Rooney or something) - I was sitting on a high stool, with my heels hooked over a rung, leaned forward to pick up my drink and tipped.

It's impossible to unhook your heels when tipping. Face first on the dance floor, thank you very much.

When I'm alone, I'm agile as hell. :grr:

24. *tries not to trip over keyboard while typing a response*
;) Seriously, though, I'm a huge klutz as well. Things I have done that were less than graceful:

1) Fallen down the stairs at my house at least twice in recent memory - once in my sock feet, and once in dress shoes. The dress shoes incident happened when I was getting ready to go to church one Sunday, and I was running a little late, so my parents were headed out the door as I was coming down the stairs to join them. I slipped and fell, and screamed so loud they heard me outside and came running back in to see what was wrong. I had sprained my ankle pretty badly, so needless to say I didn't go to church that day (and for once, my dad - who is usually pretty hardcore about church attendance - didn't give me hell about it).
2) Accidentally poked my roommate in the head with a marshmallow roasting stick (complete with roasted marshmallows). Luckily, she wasn't hurt too badly and I didn't get gooey marshmallows in her hair, so that turned out much better than it could have...but it still wasn't one of my more graceful moves.
3) Broken my boyfriend's bed (no, not doing that!). I was spending the week at his apartment, and he was sitting on the end of the bed checking his e-mail or something on the computer that was on his desk. I came into the room and he pulled me into his lap...next thing we knew, both of us had been dumped onto the floor with the mattress on top of us! Neither of us were hurt, but it made for a pretty funny story.
4) Not exactly a klutzy moment in particular, but I am so bad at dancing that I have been actually laughed at by everybody from my Homecoming date to my band director. :grr: :( Yeah.

And finally, the biggest, most important, extraordinarily klutziest moment of them all:
5) My freshman year of college, I was pantsed by a treadmill that was in the front row of the gym equipment, facing a mirrored wall. Yeah, that was fun. :sarcasm:

25. Oh man!
I once fell on the floor in front of my boss. I had thought my chair was right behind me, and well, it wasn't, so PLOP, down on the floor I went.
