I became obsessive about cleanliness. I bleached everything and washed the floors twice a week, all the baseboards every week. No germ could have survived in that environment but just in case, I became a compulsive handwasher, too. Eventually I started having panic attacks. When those ended (sheer willpower) the compulsion was gone. I still use the Purell, but I only do the floors once a week.

222. How was it...the march?

There was a mini one in Hawaii...just a couple of people, along the roadside, holding signs saying "PEACE." There might have been more earlier in the day, I don't know. Anyway, that's the way they make a statement there sometimes. It's not a lot of noise, but it gets the point across.

One of the best things I've ever done! I felt so healthy afterwards. It purged a lot of really sick and bad feelings that had been building up in me for about six years. :hi:

I wanted to go, but given the choice of spending the last 3 days of my vacation in Hawaii or D.C....well, I just couldn't give up Hawaii. And, my husband thought I was insane to even entertain the thought. He gave me the ole, "If that's what you to do." He always does that when he doesn't want to do something...one of these days I'm going to say, "YES, it IS!";-)

marks the 4th anniversary of our Iraq debacle. There is going to be a huge march at the pentagon, and I bet the backlash from the near record budget request will fuel a lot of extra participants!! You should go. I went by myself, but never felt alone. Feels great to have so many like minded people around you.

I would go again, but sadly I'll be out of the country then. :)

233. I'm doing an island thing too,

going to Puerto Rico for the first time, then to Bonaire, which is just off the coast of Venezuela (12 degrees N).

Bonaire is a great place to unwind. You can windsurf, dive, snorkel, swim, and that's it (well, drink, too). The temp year round averages just over 80 degrees F 24/7. The water is 85 degrees +/- year round 24/7, and a startling electric blue. You pack a couple pair of shorts, a couple of Tee's, flip-flops, and you're set. No checked baggage, no place to shop, nothing to buy, nowhere to go, no dress-up, no fancy restaurants (but good food).

Come on March!!
