20 y-o Luke Frist, horribly burned in Friday's ambush when his fuel tanker was hit died of his wounds yesterday.
He was with the 209th Quarternmaster Corp, a Reserve unit.

Stop it already with the brief body-count updates that are "hidden" in the crawling news-tickers.

Show us the FACES! Tell us the BIOS! Let's watch a few hundred bodies being unloaded in Germany and at Dover AFB.

The numbers are meaningless now. Just cold statistics that the public has grown accustomed to. They acknowledge that it's a "pity"... but other than that, there's no real emotional reaction.

The news media and the public are dutifully taking their cues from Bush* and Rove. All these wasted young lives are just another annoying fact of life. Here today, gone tomorrow. Live with it. Deal with it. IGNORE IT and it will go away.

Where is Bush*? Why doesn't HE honor or acknowledge the returning DEAD. The DEAD.

Kalb did a segment on NPR on this a month or two ago. Bush is very careful to control the images that the public sees. Cameras are banned from the federal mortuary at Dover AFB, for example.

Of course, why are the local papers complicit in this?
