Poll question: The Official NCAA Football National Championship Poll
What the f**k does the BCS or those coaches or those sportswriters know? Let's settle it once and for all. Please, no flames, simply vote and give your reasons why.

I am voting for USC because I think they beat a better team than LSU--Oklahoma was clearly vastly over-rated all season. They made the BCS championship game largely because of a "quality" win over Texas, and we all know how Texas got creamed in their bowl.

That said, I think USC-LSU would have been a great game.

1. Oklahoma overrated??
Ummm, no, they were plowing through everyone they played. Blame should rather be on the Big 12, which was, frankly, a weak conference this year - both the SEC and Big 10 had it licked as far as good teams. They just lost it against Kansas State, and couldn't recover from that loss.

2. Yes, it was a weak conference, and I don't think the BCS had
that factored in. Still, people were talking about OU being the greatest team ever, and they weren't even close--I'd call that over-rated.

3. USC played the weakest schedule
USC's opponents had an overall losing record, something like 66-68.
Only about a third of USC's opponents had winning records, by an average of 2 wins.

They only played 3 ranked teams, losing one of the games.

Either OU or LSU would have wiped the floor with USC.

4. Don't agree, because you could mnake a case that the Pac-10 was a tough
conference, and there was a great deal of parity.

This only proves my point that they need a play-off system, but I don't think that's going to happen!

16. No you can't make that case...the Pac Ten was sooo easy
Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 09:51 PM by sleipnir
No real competition, but it looked strong because of the large number of mediocore teams playing meadiocore teams. Pac 10 has always been a joke and always will be. No offensive, but there's nothing there at all, they should be stripped of all BCS bowls.

18. Wrong again
Pac-10 is an excellent conference. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

17. Wrong
USC wouild have beaten either of those teams, although I think both games would have been close, particularly LSU. I saw USC in person this year and that was the best team I've seen live in about 10 years, even better than the 2001 Miami team.

7. I voted for USC...
...because their Rose Bowl performance was simply awesome. Against one of the top teams in the country, everything the Trojans did worked. They simply couldn't be stopped. Add that to the fact that SC had been #1 in both polls the last time the voters had a free choice, and there was really no reason to doubt that they were

Had either LSU or Oklahoma managed to pull off such a dominant effort, I might have reconsidered. But what I saw at the Sugar Bowl was two good-but-flawed teams playing each other near-equally, until the Sooner QB lost his effectiveness. LSU, despite its victory, simply didn't turn in the stellar performance that might have made me change my mind.

14. USC are the champs in my opinion.
The BCS is crap. They should just play USC vs LSU during the Super Bowl bye week. Finalize the damn thing.

19. LSU and USC are co champions.I like seeing teams who haven't won it
all in a long time winning one.1974 for USC and 1958 for LSU.Same for last year.OSU hadn't won it all since 1968.Maybe there's hope for UT yet. They haven't won since 1971.A&M?About 55 years.
