SEC WEST - 4-0 in Bowl Games
Arkansas beat Missouri who beat Nebraska (Independence)
- Houston Nutt turns down 2.5 mil to coach at Nebraska

Ole Miss beat Oklahoma State (Cotton)
- Peyton's little brother, third in Heisman and way high as an NFL pick

LSU beat Oklahoma (Sugar)
- After Big 12 performance in bowls, not that big a deal but still a win for the best half of a conference in the country

Auburn beat somebody ( War Eagle rolled down the field --- )
- Help me out Auburn fans (at least you weren't on probation this year?)

2. The LSU Oklahoma Game was awful
The only reason LSU constantly putting the ball on the ground didn't cost them the game is every time Oklahoma recovered it turned out they were being penalized and the ball went back to LSU.

USC should be declared the sole college football champion for this year and the BCS either abolished or massively changed.

3. Wouldn't it be great
if the championship were determined on the field? I don't care who is the "champ" this year. But how come the other divisions can come to a conclusion which lacks argument and the big guys can't. Greedy bowl bastards, that's why.

USC V LSU, somewhere next Saturday Night. Then any posturing would be legitimate. But the greedy bowl bastards would whine.

5. I don't understand that, Boss
How would it hurt the greedy bowl bastards to have a playoff system?

How many bowl games this year actually meant anything to anybody besides college football fanatics and alumni? Two?

If you had a 16 team playoff, using the bowl games, you would suddenly have 15 bowls that all have at least some impact on the national championship picture.

I can't see how that isn't a win/win for everybody.

6. Then why hasn't it happened?
Change is hard for many. The "Bowls" (Sugar, Cotton, Rose, Fiesta, Orange) have fought for their territory. The BCS was step one of their releasing that grip on College Football. Either we give the bowls back their games, which are great for alumni and fanatics or we support a structure which gives us a true National Champion (with bowls being used as pre-champinship games). If we choose to support neither of those choices then the BCS will prosper, controversy will rage, alumni will not be satisfied and I will cuss Bowl Bastards.

St John's beat Mt Union in Division III football for the championship. There is no controversy. There are no dueling posts. The championship was settled where it should be settled - on the field. Greedy Bowl Bastards are preventing that from happening in Division I-A. USC-LSU, WHY NOT? GREEDY BOWL BASTARDS, THAT'S WHY NOT.

4. Another big problem for Oklahoma was that White was hurt.
I don't think his hand had healed from the K-State game.
His passing game was way off last night.

7. It was a fiasco all the way around
If the refs had left their flags on the field it would have been yellow from end to end by halftime. Offsetting penalties, two and three penalties on one team in one play, my personal favorite was when LSU was hit with two penalties on one play and moved out of field goal range.

Dropped balls all over the place. I think I counted about a dozen fumbles (it may have been a few less) but the ball would either hop out of bounds or the refs would throw another flag and give it back. A couple of times even the announcers were surprised when a flag reversing a turnover was thrown after the turnover occured.

Passes that were uncatchable. Balls batted in the air all over the place.

At half time the total offense was 140 for LSU and 60 for Oklahoma. The only diference was the first play from scrimage. Other than that neither team could move the ball. Refs had the most yardage, but because they didn't have a favorite in the game, it didn't help either team.

I normally love college football, but that game was worse than pre-season pro ball.

9. It must be a tough conference
when you can win nine games and still finish in the bottom part of the conference. It's OK, LSU put together a hell of a team this year. Other than them, we weren't "spanked" by anyone. As a matter of fact, we were only a couple penalties away from winning 11 games and going to a BCS bowl.
