What are your plans for the day?
Me, I'm going to write a bit, do some knitting, I have an appointment with a counselor this afternoon and then I have to work tonight.

I might do some laundry in there somewhere, too. And dance around the house to the radio -- just enough to make the kids roll their eyes.

"Mu-ther!"

:eyes:

:P

What about you?

Some of the guys at work play...they'll leave for a couple of hours during the evening sometimes.

Do you have any idea what kind of premade veggie dinner you're gonna get?

are really late at night. There I plan to go to bed, zap through the channels one last time and BOOM something interesting on Arte or 3Sat!! Why can't they show it earlier in the evening?? Why always after 11pm???

Did you ever watch Elefant Tiger & Co auf MDR??? Really nice Reality Doku about the Zoo in Leipzig. Carefully though, it is addictive. Fridays 7.50pm

10. Work till 5:30
Then I'm going to go to work on some writing, and if I'm feeling up to it, I might stop by my neighborhood pub's trivia night.

What sort of writing do you do? I'm always curious to speak to other writers. (I'm currently writing a feature-length screenplay and working on episode 2 of a little short film/TV show I'm making.)

25. Depends on my mood...
usually I write fiction, although I do the occasional essay or whatever, too. Right now I'm working on a lit fic novel but I've put that on the back-burner for a bit and I'm concentrating on a piece of genre fluff that I want to have ready in early March. Not exactly scintillating, but kinda fun.

What kind of screenplay?

63. It's a film noir
Based VERY loosely on my experiences working for a tempermental chef while I was in college.

It's heavily fictionalized, of course, but they say to write what you know. And the noirish elements are allowing me to punch it up with some sex and violence. Hopefully, that will make it a little more marketable.

I also write poetry and essays, but I haven't written anything like that for a while. I've been in a more dramatic mood lately.

What sort of genre is your fluff?

66. Heh...
the fluff is a humorous thriller set in a funeral home.

It's actually kinda fun. Opens with a dead body falling out of the sky: "I always wanted to have men falling at my feet, but it was just an expression. Really."

A lot of my stuff is short...very short. In the under-500 category...and it can be fairly dark and dramatic. I figured it was time for a change.

This one qualifies.

58. When I do Christmas projects, I usually try to start them in January
that way I'm kinda still in that frame of mind. And I'm fairly sure I'll have it done in time. I can usually crochet faster than I can knit or embroider...the blanket that I did, I did in three days.

Of course, the baby was imminent so I had to get it finished. After I finish the sweater set, I'm going to knit an afghan/diaper bag set.

62. Have you tried
crocheting with string and the tiny stainless-steel hooks? I used to have some cool patterns for angels and snowflakes and christmas ornaments. I have no idea where the book went, though.

:(

Knitting isn't hard...I taught myself. It's two basic stitches -- one in front of the needles and one behind -- and the rest is just variations of those. Kind of like crocheting, learning to feel comfortable holding the yarn is half the battle. And learning not to hold the needles too tightly.

72. I mostly do the thin thread crocheting.
I've been making doilies for years and the Xmas project I'm working on is with the thin thread and size 9 stainless-steel crochet hook. It's addicting. It gets hard to switch back to wool or heavy threads needed for afgans or pillows because there is such a different feel to the heavier threads. But those projects really seem to zoom along after all the tiny stitches used in doiles.

My grandmother used to be the doily maker in the family. After she passed away I thought it would be nice to learn to make them. Now I don't want to stop... just like my grandmother! She was always busy with some project.

I have a few extra doilies. Would you like them? :)
PM me. I'll be leaving for my hair appointment soon but I'll get back to you when I get home.

in anticipation of buggering out of here next Wednesday AND GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH say I (that's this place and its ilk, not me, mind!)

- Recycle lots and lots of paperwork.

- Surf DU.

- Fancy up my freelance Website.

- Drink more coffee.

- Watch Studio 60 online.

- Wander around and say I'm bored.

- And, if I can contain myself, refrain from telling some bosses what I really think of them.

on the mom-van. Neither one of them will open from the outside. And the sliding door won't open from the inside. Makes leaving work an adventure. One night, the sliding door froze shut and I had to climb in through the hatch...and that door doesn't stay up. Slipped on the icy bumper climing in and landed on my ass in the parking lot.

Fortunately there wasn't anyone around at that time of night to witness my not-so-graceful exit from the vehicle.

Repaired one of the beasts yesterday, and gave it a good wash, etc. Unfortunately, I did not get all of the water out of the locks, and they were frozen solid this morning. Took a few minutes, but Mrs. Rat and I finally got into the car. At least it wasn't as bad as trying to get into the car after one of our famous ice storms (I have stories...).

29. Well Wednesday's are my "busy days"
As opposed to my usual do nothing days. hehe. I already cleaned the kitchen of the mess left for me from breakfast. I had to wash the comforter and blanket on the master bed because my dog peed on it. Which is totally unlike her. You'd think someone *ahem* (the other *adult*) in the house would have let her out this morning. Anyway... I have to feed and then bring my youngest to preschool, then quick errands, go to therapy, pick up my oldest, pick up the youngest, pick up the middle, come home, feed pets, make dinner (that is unless, like the past two days I crash and take a nap from being sick), eat, then try to either post here or level my World of Warcraft character while helping kids with homework, then get them ready for bed, put them to bed, either scurry down into my lair to post or play more WoW, stay up way too late and then crash.

That's what I'm planning anyway. :)

45. Sounds like fun...
actually, sounds kinda like my days.

No one told me how much 'ick' work there was to being a mom.

34. CPR and First Aid Training at work, leaving
soon. 3 hours of it today and 3 hours tomorrow.

I'll be done work early though, so that's a bonus.

49. Sometimes any excuse to leave work early is a bonus...
I really need to recertify my CPR license.

Especially now.

I'm doing good. Staying positive. Last we heard was Monday and the news was good. Check your PM in a few minutes.

64. Boring day here.
Finish my homework, my friend's homework, clean cat pee, work on a scrapbook for my mom, get my nails done, and call my gramma to harass her for a while. Right now I'm procrastinating and thinking about lunch.

77. Well.......today?
I had to get up early and get going.......unlike most days when I can sit around in my nightie and bathrobe!

I showered and dressed early since my cleaning lady (yaaay!) was coming...

And I needed to be out of her way......

Made the bed....also to keep her from making it!

Now I'm here, and later my hubbie and I will most likely go out to lunch...

But the capper?

This afternoon I get to visit with another DU'er who's out here from Tennessee!

Buddyhollysghost!

She called me yesterday, and we set this up.....I'll probably go to her hotel, and we'll visit!

And yes, there will be pics!

80. Heh...
funny how they start to feel better about halfway through the morning, isn't it?

One of mine is home sick, too. He's got a nasty, nasty cold -- nasty enough that this is his third day home.

Dr. Mom, at the ready, armed with hot tea and toast, chicken soup and crackers...

And a bottle of Robitussin.

Hang in there.

She's not home yet, but today's her birthday. 2 weeks old at 11:34 tonight.

She was such a good little girl, she waited for me to get off work.

87. It was a fun day
First shopping trip was for the gift I mailed. I bought some silicone bakeware for a new cook.

Second shopping trip was for me. I took advantage of the white sales to get new sheets for my bed and some bath sheets.

before Christmas. I need to get new towels, but I have such a hard time getting rid of the old ones and then I've got too many and then they wind up all over the place and...

*sigh*

I don't have any problem getting rid of old ones. Every time the kids come visit, they take some home. Darn thieves.

90. Heh...see, most of mine are still underfoot.
Which is why I always need new ones. Then I jump up and down long enough to force them into their rooms to clean, I find out that I really didn't need new ones, after all. Then my hall closet is bursting -- and I'm washing towels for three days.

At least towels are easy to fold.
