Texans and winter= silliness!
So, it's REALLY cold here. The weather prediction is snow/sleet/freezing rain starting tomorrow.

I have to go to the grocery store for TP and the whole grocery store is MAD! No milk, No eggs, No bread... It was NUTS I tell you!

I kept thinking... jeeze... I hope we never have to deal to deal with a REAL massive weather situation. :eyes:

Texans and SNOW... it doesn't compute!

BTW- I got my damn TP and TWO bottles of wine... Safety first! :P

1. Blame that Jim Spencer guy!
He was telling people to prepare by going to the store to stock up since it might be TWO WHOLE DAYS that there might be ice. :eyes:

Still, I went to get a few things, but Saturday is my usual grocery day. Whole Food up north wasn't TOO bad this afternoon.

3. I love Jim Spencer
My husband says I have a crush on him. ;)

He's very reassuring when things get freaky.

4. I think he's a good weatherman, but he gets everyone all worked up about snow.
Everyone is all in a tizzy and the snow almost never comes. Plus, telling people stock up is a bit much. It's not THAT big of a deal.

5. Sounds about like here in North Carolina whenever the weather turns wintry
There's the inevitable mad rush to the grocery store for water, batteries & whatever else. As a former Northerner, I can't help but feel smugly amused during these times.

8. SHIT!
I forgot to buy the WINE!!!!! Thanks for reminding me :D

I love watching my fellow Texans in times like this too. My favorites are those who still go out in just a t-shirt and jeans and maintain that "WTF?" look on their faces because, well, WTF?

10. That's okay - Philadelphians do that for the 1st storm of the year
Run out to Wawa and clean them out of milk, bread and toilet paper (why toilet paper?)

By the time March hits, it's like "Four inches due tonight? No problem, let's meet you in town for drinks"

quite a deal eh?

Sounds like more and more people are losing electric. I bet that number goes up a lot after a night of freezing drizzle and sleet.

That will be a mess.

15. here's the latest..
It is advised that if you don't have to get out and drive on Monday or Tuesday, don't! Hazardous driving is always the prime concern when it comes to impending winter weather. Use caution if you do have to venture out.

19. Alas Texasgal, I have to get out in it
where I work it is 365 days a year, 24x7. Not only do I have to work, I sometimes have to work extra tgo cover for idiot Texans who cannot drive on a quarter inch of ice. Last time I was so irritated when someone called in I DROVE OVER TO THEIR HOUSE AND PICKED THEIR SORRY ASS UP - in a 10 year old car with half-bald tires no less.

23. Yep...I talked to my Mom in Houston today
She said the whole place is going nutso over the weather. We're in South Dakota now, so I just laugh. Next week, our low temps are going to be negative without the wind chill factor. Houston doesn't know the meaning of winter.

Stay off the roads!!! These people do NOT know how to drive on ice.
