1. I would have been less afraid
I spent the first forty years of my life scared of anyone in a position of authority, be it family, church, political. I no longer give a rats ass saying what I think and wonder why I didn't do so sooner. So I have been ostracized for holding Democratic values. I'm in good company here. If our relationships are conditional they are not worth hanging on to.

2. I have to say
thank you for the heartfelt, and honest, response. I'm there right with you. I spent way too many years worrying and wondering and considering.

peace.

5. I would have taken more chances, and been less invisible
Everyone says I'm a nice guy, and that I'm special but it seems like they're looking through me as they're on their way to something or someone else when they say it.

I would have spoken up more. Taken more risks. Traveled more. And been out front working for things and people that I thought were important -- instead of working in the background or cheering from the sidelines.

So many opportunities missed by playing it safe, not rocking the boat too much, being the nice guy.

Sigh...
