Superheroes wearing rubber suits these days - why?

I don't think Batman suit, in Batman Begins was rubber, Michael Keatons' definately was...

As for superman's out fit in superman returns...

its not rubber...gasp...:D I'm trying to find a link for it, but they cover that aspect well on the Superman Returns dvd, disc 2...the making of SR...:)

on edit:I don't think Spiderman has a rubber suit, nor the xmen either, I believe the xmen had leather outfits...but I could be wrong...

7. Given a choice
between molded rubber and plastic and the old spandex-style - I'll take the new ones. A codpiece is way easier to handle than having to watch Adam West's package bouncing all over the screen for a half hour.

Did I say handle? That's not exactly what I meant....

10. I'm sure theres nothing wrong with it
I mean, you can see the vast majority of it so if there was something wrong with it I'm sure everyone would know.

I think the first time they showed me those outfits I would have needed a pay raise to put it on...

15. The actors can't fill the role.
C'mon...these superhero characters: Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Daredevil...were all drawn with incredible physiques that most of today's actors can't fill out. The actors that COULD fill them out (Diesel, "The Rock" etc) aren't getting the roles.

Other superhero roles were filled well, because it was based on a character where the physique wasn't so much the basis. Jane was an excellent Punisher, and I'll bet Cage will be an excellent Ghost Rider just like Jackman was an excellent Wolverine.
