What would Miss Manners say?
I want to start an appreciation thread.

Should I ask the target of said thread for permission?

14. I was just joking...
...I am the last person to ask about manners.

But, it seems more common than not to just start a thread...as a surprise...for the person.

Did you ever start it, BTW?

2. hm, good question, someone started a 'bridgit appreciation thread'...

6. I could honestly do that.
You appreciated my 'screw threads' post

and

your husband has a keen understanding of skilled vs educated.

I agree with him, desk people should spend at least a year makings stuff before the
can even make drawings.

Maybe I start a MrBridgit appreciation thread.

:hi:

7. Depends. Is it a surprise appreciation thread or a planned appreciation thread.
Also, black tie and tails or casual. Are you serving up a full course or is this short, sweet and possibly load with liquor?

Go ahead and appreciate me.
That could be fun - I don't think there's more than three people on DU who know me.
