Get Your MySpace Graphics or Skinable MP3 Flash Player!
I just started my website for people to grab the graphics I make for MySpace (and other blogs, profile pages, etc.). At the moment I've only got the Online Now icons uploaded (there's over 500 of them and it took FOREVER to get them all up). Soon to come are contact boxes, extended network banners, comment graphics, etc. (working on getting all that up now). I probably won't be doing full layouts or backgrounds mostly because of the amount of bandwidth necessary for that, but we'll see.

Check it out... http://mytwowings.tripod.com

I'm MyTwoWings on MySpace... http://www.myspace.com/mytwowings
This page is a different one from my personal profile page (which is private), and I just started this one and I only have ONE friend... add me before I get a complex thinking nobody likes me. :D

Want a bad ass MP3 Flash player for your profile page, blog or website? Check out my other website for instructions on putting the Jeroen player on your page, where to get free skins for it, where to host your MP3's for free, etc... http://torchthewitch.tripod.com ... Jeroen lets people use his player for free, you can put as many songs on it as you want, and best of all make it look and act like whatever you want by skinning it. I put a skinned player on the site so people can see how it works and how versatile it is. Skins are made in Flash, and when I get some more time, I'll be making custom skins for the player for whoever wants one for a dinky fee. But I'll also be making skins for folks to use for free (they just won't be custom).

Shameless plug... utterly and completely shameless.

Oh yeah, could somebody that doesn't have a creeping antiquated dial-up connection let me know if the sites load in a decent amount of time? Everything loads slow for me, so I can't tell (I think I'm the last person on earth that still has dial-up).

2. Let me know if you have any problems with the set up
I don't anticipate you will since I wrote the instructions for people that know next to nothing about computers and sort of need their hand held through it all. It might look a bit scary and involved but it's actually pretty simple. I also explained why you were doing what you're doing so when you go to add new songs or switch up playlists or change the player skin to a different one it will all make sense and you can probably do all that yourself without having to refer back to the instructions. And also in case something goes wrong and the player either doesn't work right or doesn't work at all you'll know what to look for to fix it since it could be any number of things that are causing a problem.

I suggest using SnapDrive.net to host your MP3's. FileLodge has been having server issues for over a month now and FileCabin is adding new servers so they go offline once in awhile recently (and not nearly as many people know about SnapDrive so they aren't being killed with nearly as many hordes of people sucking up bandwidth). Actually, it's a pretty good idea to upload to two hosts in case one goes down so you can just change one line of code and switch to the other so your player should always work as long as you pay attention to what it's doing regularly. I wish Photobucket let you host MP3's... I never ever ever ever have a problem with Photobucket like other free hosting services sometimes have.

4. Oh good! Glad to have helped!
I had no idea how to go about that at first either. Took a lot of research and a lot of trial and error with different hosts to find the best ones that give the most free space and bandwidth. There's a ton of free hosts out there but most of them totally suck. There's one that makes you load the weather channel and some shopping network program on your computer in order to have an account (can you believe people actually agree to that????) and one that only lets you upload ONE song per MONTH! Can you imagine???? It would take over a YEAR to upload a whole cd's worth of songs! Craziness.

Oh, a little secret about SnapDrive... register. SnapDrive doesn't make you register an account with them if you don't mind having your files public, but what they only tell you in the very fine print (in "legalese" no less) is that if you don't register for an account you don't get nearly the same amount of space and bandwidth that registered members get. I think that's how they've been able to keep down the overload on their servers... most people probably don't bother to register since they don't have to (but not realizing that by not registering they get only a limited version of the service).
