Observations from Denver, CO, 1 week after the blizzard:
Edited on Tue Dec-26-06 06:27 PM by originalpckelly
OK, things are going to shit. Stores are running out of bread and milk. Trash has just started being collected. Private trash service where I live, has not even come. The operative word is trash! It's everywhere. Went to go check the mail, and it was all over the place. I suppose the fact that Christmas was yesterday, doesn't help things.

Oh and guess what? There's another storm, which might become a big blizzard, coming right our way once again. Yes, folks, that's right, another blizzard. (Well they're calling it a "winter storm with near blizzard conditions" whatever the hell that means.)

Here is the advisory:
"... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday afternoon through
Friday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Friday
afternoon.

Possible heavy snow accumulations... in excess of 8 inches... are
expected across the urban corridor and plains on Thursday and
Friday. The heaviest amounts of snow will be near the eastern
foothills and over the Palmer Divide. North to northeast winds at
sustained speeds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph will
produce areas of blowing snow and possible near blizzard
conditions at times across the plains.

Remember... a Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for a
hazardous winter weather event in and close to the watch area.
Significant snow accumulations may occur that could impact
travel. Stay tuned to the National Weather Service or your local
news media for the latest updates and possible warning concerning
this potential winter storm."

Wonderful.
