2. We're having a ham today
Though we sometimes have turkey. When I was a kid, we'd have a venison roast.

5. We thought about having tacos...
But if you've ever had my mother's dressing, you'd understand why we chose to have what we had. It's a simple cornbread dressing. We get it twice a year if we're lucky.
Hope you enjoyed your day!!

thats the way it is with my grandma's potato salad. I've pretty much perfected it. Its simple, not all this crazy stuff in the salad but of my goodness is it good.

15. Sounds like my mother's deviled eggs.
Other people put pickles and onions and paprika in it, among other stuff. My mom just puts mustard, salt, pepper, the yolk and a little miracle whip. It's freaking wonderful.

14. I was thinking about having a ham for Christmas.
My work place gave away turkeys. My husband and I each got a turkey. So we had that with mashed potatoes, corn, and dressing. I also made a champagne punch. It includes:

2 750 liter bottles champagne
1 750 liter bottle white wine
2 c chilled cranberry juice'
2 c chilled orange juice
1/4 c fresh squeezed lemon juice

Every time I've had it, it's been seriously chewy and gray. Bleck.

31. Tell me about it!
My sister-in-law is a gray-meat fiend. We had to make sure the prime rib was done enough for her, so that meant precious little pink (and no red) for those of us who truly appreciate their prime rib.

Roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, sweet&sour red cabbage with apples, mashed rutabaga with butter and a smidge of nutmeg, mashed potatoes, homemade cranberry sauce with orange zest. For dessert, a pumpkin and a pecan pie with real whipped cream. It was great!

20. Beef. It's what's for christmas.
Standing rib (prime rib) roast (a freaking beautiful 11 pounder) mashed potatoes, pan gravy, fresh green beans, stupid pilsbury crescent rolls (all due to vehicle problems - don't ask) and homemade pecan pie with whipped cream. "Champagne" and a nice Merlot/Cab blend.

34. Always homemade spaghetti, but this year also roast beef
The reason is that my parents divorced this year, so now we have two dinners :) Normally it would be spaghetti, but my mom started a new tradition of roast beef.

Spaghetti: Homemade sauce with spices, pasta noodles that aren't just grab off the shelf at the grocery store, sparkling apple cider, garlic bread (homemade), tossed salad.
Roast Beef: Sparkling apple cider and white wine, homemade bread (bread machine), green bean casserole, olives, tossed green salad, steamed corn, mashed potatoes (not instant, yay!), homemade gravy, homemade pumpkin pie.
