anyone ever tried Absente (a type of Absynthe)

We bought a bottle yesterday. Apparently it is legal in the States because it contains a different variety of wormwood (supposedly less bitter) that isn't banned. Anyone ever try it? Is it like the "real" thing?

I don't even want to open it for NYE if it's going to be disappointing--so I also have champaigne and some good vodka.

I swore off any kind of alcohol . I will report back to you after I observe my friend's behavior after drinking it .
