Poll question: Christmas ham
Okay, for Thanksgiving, our pilgrim forefathers stuffed turkeys as an annual tradition. Why they just didn't go to Perkins with their wives, I have no idea...

So who came up with the idea of eating ham for Christmas? Isn't that concept a little hammy? Why not Christmas Crackers? Or Christmas Pizza? I know, Christmas Instant Pudding! With butter! :9

So my question is this: Which is your favorite Chipmunk?

4. Roast goose.
You could look it up.
Scrooge?
Tiny Tim?
That Cratchit guy?

Turkey is a not-as-greasy substitute.

15. We've always had ham for Christmas...
It's our traditional Christmas Eve dinner.

One time we were at my paternal grandmother's house for a few days at Christmas, and she made goose. It was definitely too greasy for me, and pretty gamey also. I haven't had goose since, so I have no idea what my adult palate would say.

Should I have capitalized those designations?

14. In my case, neither...
but lamb was always the thing. Maybe it's a California thing considering she was raised in sheep country.

Oh, speaking of capitals, her childhood town is now called Lambtown, USA. I'm still trying to find the capitol to register my complaint about the stinky mutton Mom served to us many years ago.

12. I voted for Dave.
I make ham on Christmas Eve, with pierogis, and a turkey for Christmas Day, with all the family's traditional side dishes.

13. There's a reason for choosing ham
it goes back to 1492 and the forced conversion of Jews and Muslims to Christianity. Some false converts continues to follow the teachings of their true religion (observing the Sabbath, kosher dietary laws, etc.)

To expose false converts, pork was served during Christian festivities, to observe who would, or would not partake.
