3. Sometimes my "hide thread" finger gets sore.

I'm gonna sue elad for damages because he hasn't enabled the (CRTL)+ "hide thread" feature in order to hide many threads in one swell foop.

...I forget about it. And, then, when I have one of those moments, like now, I find myself hiding 15 threads at once (just in case someone wonders why I respond to threads from page 20)!

9. Permalink allows you to get a url that point to one post in a thread.

So you can cross link easily.
