6. I'm sick of you fucking ninjas and your stealthy ways. You should all be killed!
That is the only way to avenge your cruelty toward pirates!

3. I still think its funny how comedians can go up and call white people crackers
and everyone will laugh, but if a white guy drops the n bomb, heads are rolling (NOTE* What Kramer did wasn't part of a comedic act, he was being offensive. I'm just saying that when the two terms are used in a comedic situation, no one gives a shit if cracker or white boy or w/e gets thrown around. I think if your gonna be offended by one racial derogatory term, then you ought to be equally offended by others).

While cracker doesn't offend me (I actually think its funny), the double standards in our society are always amusing.

7. Otoh, Larry the Cable Guy is definitely racist.. MENCIA, too.
The other three in the Redneck tour are much smoother.

10. Yeah, Larry DEFINITELY is
Some people defend him and say it's satire and he's really making fun OF the rendecks, but if you ever read any of his 'open letters' you'll see what he's made of.

He should be Larry the Shit Shoveler

5. I agree to a certain extent.
Though I do understand the nuance provided by the different historical contexts of the two words, I never understood exactly why it's ok to insult one group of people, and not the other.

8. I had a similar discussion the other day with my so
He remarked that while "burrito eater" is taken as a major slur by Mexicans, if someone called him a "steak eater" he'd just laugh.

To me, though, the difference is the weight of year upon year of unfair treatment, both by individuals and institutionally. When he also mentioned that he had been once passed over for a job because they chose to hire a minority instead, my response was, "so what?" Because while this happened to my white male so once, it happens repeatedly over a lifetime for many minorities. More difficulty finding a decent paying job, more difficulty finding a decent place to live, more difficulty getting fair treatment from the police, the schools, the medical community, etc. As a woman, I've experienced some of that and understand how it gives you a bit more of a chip on your shoulder about things - terms - that express the discrimination that is still quite real in many areas and with many people.

So while it's not right or fair to call anyone names, some of them do hurt more than others because there's more behind them.

14. Is an insult insulting if the insultee doesn't realize
he/she's been insulted?

(Was that a question or a conjugation festival?)

I think White People just don't get it half the time because, like you said, most of 'em don't know from oppression and prejudice — they probably wouldn't recognize it if it happened to them. So they're likely to have a sense of immunity.

There's a difference between not getting upset and not realizing you've got something to get upset about.

15. Like I posted in the video forum,
Honestly, though, I get tired of the racist epithets, Universally. I'm tired of hearing them from Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Carlos Mencia, etc.

Derisive ethnic terms from ANY race do nothing but divide us, when we should be looking at ways we are alike.

I think we have to eliminate the double standard. I don't want to hear anyone talk about a 'n***er' whether they be white, black or otherwise. Same goes for any other racial term.
