I turned down a chance for another job on principle.
At least I believe so.

It's in my former section, but in the accounting section. Granted, it's only temporary for about a year or so until the permanent person comes back from another position, and the supervisor there is my OLD one (she's essentially an incompetent flake who likes to favour her useless friends)

They wanted me to go for "testing" for the position. To PROVE I could use word processing software, etc. Testing? TESTING?

I worked in that area, hell, I practically (with the help of a couple others) kept that bloody area going and you want ME to test?

I told human resources I changed my mind. I'm not jumping through hoops for anybody. A few friends think maybe I should have went for the testing(admittedly not my strenght, hell, how many times do I have to use MERGE in a document?) I don't know, but something broke in me....

I think I have proven myself over and over and over again....fuck em, I'm not TESTING......

1. I don't blame you at all. That was an insult to ask that of you.

2. it is after all that #$@#@# put me through......
seriously, I saved HER butt many a time over. But go right ahead, @#$#@, go to the next person on the list who won't be properly trained and cause even MORE problems for your little department.

They don't deserve me.

Seriously, I'm learning to be quite stubborn about what I want nowadays. :)

3. No such thing as permanent
There are only salaried and hourly positions.

Believe me, when I took training as a supervisor, they pounded this into our head: Do not give anybody the idea that a job is a permanent position.

So don't worry about the duration of the job. The only thing that's certain is the next two weeks.

one thing I can count on at work. ;)

I more or less like my current position, my supervisor is very nice and thinks highly of me. :)

6. Grab it, then
You want to have a good relationship with your boss. That's the key.

4. Good. If they really want/need you they'll offer you the job
without the useless testing.

7. Yeah, I think the testing is pretty pathetic.....
I like how you can DO the job very well for years, but, gee,you have to be tested on a program nobody in the section really uses?

It's like, whatever, babe. :eyes:

P.S. Did I mention the rumour that Ms. Supervisor was HARDLY qualified for HER position, had to change the position in order for her to be qualified for it. Oh, but that's office gossip.

I'm snippy today. :D
