Did anyone see Bill Clinton on Ellen's show today?
He really never ceases to amaze me. I'm watching it now and he's just so funny and charming and the crowd loves the man. I just can't imagine the current president ever coming on a talk show like this and being such a great guest

5. I saw it! Bill Clinton was great.
And Ellen's show is refreshingly nice. Just regular people . . . and Bill Clinton. :)

6. OHH, maybe that will be the first thing I watch on CharterOnDemand
I just discovered I have access to it and how to get to it.

Now I can watch Olberman even when I get home after 8

7. It was a wonderful show. He is so relaxed and at ease with
everyone. He looked so great holding that baby. Did you notice how he immediately started the baby-bounce when he picked the little guy up? I bet he was great with Chelsea when she was a baby.

8. Nothing he does seems forced
he's just the kind of guy who can walk into any room and have the whole crowd eating out of his hand in a matter of seconds. Not many people have the "it" factor he possesses

13. room -- heck, he can walk into a sports arena full of people
In a different country, too -- and still get the audience to hang on his every word. It happened earlier this month, in my Canadian city. We like to feel we are blase about celebrities (it's a provincial capital, the place is full of politicians, lots of famous authors come by here on their book tours, and Diana Krall and Nelly Furtado are from here). But people have been talking about the Clinton visit since September. I saw a retired top-level diplomat start babbling like a teen at a rock concert, he was so excited about just being in the audience. Naturally the tickets sold out within days ... my boss was grumbling because he didn't get one, but his wife reminded him that she got him Rolling Stones tix for his birthday, and he still had to think about which event he wanted to see the most!

9. What do you think?
Didn't it sound like he wanted Hillary to run? I'm not a big Hillary fan, but imagine Bill Clinton as First Gentleman (or whatever he would be called). Wouldn't that be a hoot!

11. I wonder if he would have to host tea parties in the Blue Room...
and give annual TV tours of the White House's Christmas decorations...lol

14. that would be pretty cool
You can bet that the job of First Lady would never be the same afterwards! Clinton could host regular TV shows where he'd be picking out drapes and china patterns (and winking at the audience). And it would start to dawn on people that really, the President's spouse has been pretty much drafted into this ornate ceremonial role which doesn't reflect the real lives of people today. And that's been allowed to happen because it's always been a woman up to now ... because the President has always been a man ... and almost always a married one ... so why did it take so long to try someone different? It would be new and unfamiliar -- but it would also be fun! (And Clinton would definitely make it fun.)
