1. Because it's easy?
Dislike/disapproval/disagreement requires thinking about and understanding the thing you are responding to, but 'hate' is simpler and more visceral - it just wraps it up in a nice little ball and chucks it in the garbage...

2. I think it is easier for some people
to hate and be angry... rather than putting one in another's shoes, or learning about differences, or just accepting other people & ideas.

10. I've never found hate to be easy.
It goes against everything I am, and it causes pain all around. Sometimes though, it comes, nests in your heart and refuses to leave.

14. I believe hate stems from fear
I can not exactly tell you why but someone I have a lot of respect for explained it to me and it felt right...still does. (Had something to do with fear of change/personal change combined with our primal instinct reaction of self preservation...sorry I wish I remembered more)

15. I was listening to a couple of things yesterday
Edited on Tue Nov-21-06 02:10 AM by MoseyWalker
on my favorite radio station. One had a woman on that I can not remember her name, but she helped me through the day. When encountering negative energies, imagine a color, or better yet, a rainbow of colors flowing out in a boundary from your head to toe. No thought processes involved at that point, just imagining. That was what I heard.

The following is my response for you (no other input, or authors or people on the radio that I heard while traveling), just from my "me":

There are some out there who just have a lifelong habit of, if not hating, sending negative feelings/thoughts/ideas/images to others, and it is difficult to counter, but not anywhere near impossible.

Those who are sending these are suffering, and a goal, which is difficult if not sometimes impossible to reach, is to seek out their energy, instead of either absorbing or reflecting their energies, then to begin to teach a new method of thinking (which is completely alien and takes much time and energy) that doesn't ignore, yet acknowledges and reflects those suffering energies while adding the light and color and energy within ourselves.

It's sometimes called sharing "love"

20. To maintain tribal safety from outside (and therefore hostile)...
...groups. It is a survival instinct left over from prehistoric times.
