I'm a church-going Christian, and it said I was a heretic. They are operating under the assumption that "heretic" and "well-read" are the same thing. Not true.

Many people who follow religious beliefs often don't question their faith, they are merely blindly devoted to it.

It's not everyone, and I'm sure it's far more prominent as you go further to the right, but I'm sure a great many people find themselves uncomfortable asking questions or wanting to examine their beliefs to any great degree.
