8. As matcom said
It's very real, and very GOOD.

You fill the cylinder with beer, and either bake in the oven, or on a covered grill. :bounce:

No corn flakes, and no boiling! :D

13. OK, now I am laughing my ass off
because I just went somewhere with that...well, wasn't in a recipe is all I can say.

No, seriously, I know it is a real dish that people make. Hear about it a lot down here, where folks like to include beer in any activity if at all possible.B-)

24. I can't take credit for it.
I heard it on "Barbecue America." I make it in my smoker, and my daughter, who won't eat chicken with bones (WTF?), will eat that.

22. Any recipe where the 1st step is "open and drink 1/2 can of beer
...gets my attention. I put lots of chicken seasoning/rub under the skin. Tender and juicy every time.

26. I make Rhine Wine Chicken with my pottery "beer can chicken"
dish.

I have a beautiful glazed stoneware version of this contraption. It is all molded in one piece, with the tube coming up from the center. Pour the aromatic liquid of your choice into the tube, impale the chicken's butt on the tube and plug up the chicken's neck with a wad of aluminum foil. The juices etc drain into the large bowl that surrounds the can shaped tube, and has a pouring lip. It is just wonderful and makes a great chicken.
