He was forced out.

And I'll admit when a bad call favors my team -- OSU beating Miami last year? There was no interference. Bad call (but I didn't complain about it).

But he WAS forced out.

33. No Packer Backer -- Vikings didn't choke
Choke is a term for those situations that should be automatic. Like kicking an extra point or field goal that is practically impossible to miss.

34. Miracle would had been a come from behind by 14 or more points
And remaining time would suggest that it was impossible.

Sort of like if the Cardinals had scored 2 touchdowns within 8 seconds like the Packers did against Denver.

BTW: I'm a diehard Packer fan.

If the Packers play up to potential they should be able to win the Super Bowl.

8. It's Tice's fault.
If he takes the chipshot FG on the first drive of the game, we win. It's that simple. When you're on the road, take the points.

That being said, I highly doubt the receiver would have gotten his 2nd foot in bounds, even if he hadn't been bumped. Bad call by the refs.

On the bright side, the way this team has screwed games up, they probably would have been spanked something fierce in the playoffs.

Not worth being concerned about.

There are other variables to be concerned about. Such as free agency. Retirements.

The fans at the game were wanting their team to win.

he is a rabid Packers fan, and I have always been a rabid Cowboys fan. Somehow, we managed to stay friends through the years until I could no longer take his mindrotted republican ways.

I can appreciate what Favre and the Packers have accomplished, though. Favre had to fight through a broken thumb for much of the season. As soon as he was basically recovered, the Pack has been on fire.

The Panthers are a bunch of pussycats. Any Carolina fans around? Did I get your attention?

18. Here's what the Vikings need to do...
get rid of Mike Tice. Dump him like yesterday's trash. Poor play calling all year. He choked away the season after a 6-0 start....only the second team in NFL history to do that...behind Washington. We go 6-0....ten games left in the season, and all we needed to do was win four more games. We couldn't even do that. Get rid of Tice...I'm starting the campaign right now!

It cost the Vikes the playoffs this year, it'll cost KC a shot of making the Super Bowl next.

45. I stopped being a Vikings fan after the 98 season
Thank goodness.

A lot of their players are just morons...their coaches have been morons.

The few good souls they had, Robert Griffith, Randall McDaniel, they got rid of.

Cris Carter is an ass.
Randy Moss is an ass.
Daunte Culpepper is the most overrated piece of shit ever.
Mike Tice sucks...and shouldn't have even been coach since he has the most blame to be handed with Korey Stringer's death.

Yes...I watch Vikings' games each week to watch them fuck up...and it is fun.

The Vikings didn't get screwed today...they screwed themselves...with stupid play calls, stupid execution of those plays...but what more do you expect they're stupid!

I've lived very happily not cheering for this team for the past 5 seasons.

If this team ever wants to be good they need to get rid of a lot of these bad seeds...Tice, Culpepper and Moss for starters...3 of the stupidest people in all of football.

Until then...this Minnesotan will continue to cheer for whichever team Rich Gannon is playing for...too bad he got injured this year.

I'm not a Packers fan either...I think Favre is one of the most overrated QB's in the league as well. Holmgren will show him next week who the brains of that 90's title really was...the coach himself..good ole' Mike.

Anyhow...expect the Titans or the Patriots to win the Super Bowl over the Eagles.

Damn I hate those Patriots too.

46. This Minnesotan still pulls for them.
But I was mighty pissed today. The reason they got the last play was because of the CB Walker playing in a daze.. But the reason we lost the game was Tice. He's a great motivator and tactically he's an OK coach, but I'm kinda tired of him not getting the easy field goal. If he had kicked the chip shot field goal on the first drive, the score would be 20-12 before the hail mary. Kick the FG, we win the game.. It's that simple.

And I couldn't believe they didn't the the onside kick!

Yeah, the Vikings troubles are worse than the Bosox, Bills, Cubs or whoever. There was today's game, the 41-0 loss to the Giants, the missed Gary Anderson FG in '98 (Oh, I want that kick back), the Steve Young scramble in '89(?), the '87 NFC Championship Game when we had the 1st and goal at the 5 and we couldn't score a TD against the Redskins to tie it up at the end, the Roger Staubach to Drew Pearson Hail Mary back in the 70's... And I'm sure there are countless other heart-breaking endings. We've also lost 4 Super Bowls.

BTW, Tice shouldn't be fired. This is their first winning season in like 3 years. He damn near got us to the playoffs. The thing I don't like about him is his unwillingness to get the easy 3 points. He does some bonehead things sometimes, but there's no reason for people to be calling for his firing.

Despite all that, and how mad I am at today's collapse, I'm not taking this too seriosly. I hate how they blew a 6-0 starting record, but these are professionals making MILLIONS of dollars a year to run around with a ball. As George Carlin once said, "If they win, fine.. If they lose, fuck 'em! Let 'em practice some more!" Besides, if you can't beat the Cardinals when the season is on the line, then shame on you. You don't deserve to be among the real playoff-caliber teams. We even lost to the Bears, Chargers, Raiders, and Giants. (But beat two playoff teams, Chiefs and Seahawks, really really bad. So go figure!)

Packers are overrated, Seahawks are overrated, and I think Carolina is, too. The NFC has a weak crop of teams this year. Expect New England and Philly to play for all the marbles. (And that will be a hell of a game, lemme tell ya!)

Back to today's game, the Vikings screwed themselves. They would never kick the FG, they couldn't recover an onside kick, and they gave up a Hail Mary. The force-out call was a bad one because the guy's foot wouldn't have landed in bounds anyway, but that's OK. The refs may have blown the call, but it's not their fault the Vikes lost. What really sucks, however, is the fact that force-outs can't be reviewed.

Sorry, but I wanted to get a bunch of shit off my chest.

That all said, I, along with the rest of the Minnicks, will root this Wednesday for the REAL team from Minnesota in the Sun Bowl. Go Gophers!

48. I agree with ya man...
the Vikings did get screwed, especially after that last play. It'll go down, in my opinion, as one of the greatest controversies (sp???) in MN Vikings history.

I think they need to fire Tice. He hasn't been good at play calling since he's been coach. Remember the Chicago game a couple of weeks ago? That was the worst play calling I've ever seen. I've seen second graders call better plays.

Hopefully Red McCombs will fire Tice tomorrow. I have no idea who would replace him, though.

This truly was another MN Vikings letdown.

By the way, he was pushed out - his other foot would have come down in bounds, had the defender's leg not been in the way as he was shoving him out of bounds.
