Great Book on Mumia
Edited on Sun Dec-28-03 05:28 PM by durutti
I know that Mumia's case is somewhat of a controversial subject on DU. I recommend everyone interested in the topic read Killing time by David Lindorff. It's the only book on the topic that even approaches objectivity. It's painstakingly balanced, and critical of both the misrepresentations of Mumia's detractors and his supporters. The sheer depth of Lindorff's research and analysis is incredible; he must have read everything that ever mentioned Mumia. It was one of my Xmas presents.

3. My conclusion...
My conclusion is that Mumia shouldn't be freed, but should be given a new trial. That's the conclusion that Lindorff comes to, and it's also what's been called for by Amnesty International.

4. First i have to admit

...that I haven't read a lot of in-depth stuff on this guy, but from what I've seen the guys guilty as hell. Its kinda like OJ, I didnt watch the trial, but i always had a problem with him running away, and the blood that was his. As for jamal, his brother has NEVER said who did it, and neither has jamal (if it wasnt jamal, that is). And you cant fake a gunshot wound either. So if you were there close enough to get shot, it would seem you could offer some opinion as to who REALLY did it. Throw out all the argued-over stuff and contradicting witnesses, etc., and it all boild down to that for me.
I think there are many other people on death row who are much more deserving of the money and effort being wasted on this guy; because this is one that is not gonna get out.
But I WILL check out this book..........
Plus, he's already had two trials

I am sufficiently intrigued by the case to look at it closer,
as well.
