1. Rockets!
They had a bucket of Rockets at the physical therapists office this week. I confined myself to 2 rolls!

What are rockets? These? They look a lot like Smartees.

47. Thanks for the welcome!
Those are what I am talking about - what I have always called Rockets. Smartees, at least the ones I am used to, have a hard candy coating.

3. Love Almond Joys.
Actually, anything chocolate is fine, including Snickers and Butterfingers. When I was a kid, sometimes we'd get homemade popcorn balls, and I hated the damn things; they always seemed dry and stale. I also never liked Tootsie Rolls. I will be handing out Almond Joys this year.

4. I should send all of my Almond Joys to you.
I've just never been able to wrap my taste buds around coconut. But I got four big bags of assorted candies for the trick-or-treaters, and mini-Almond Joys dominate the mix. I know this because I opened one bag and consumed the mini-Heath Bars.

20. Actually, I am embarrassed to admit it but the side effect
...bothers the people around me way more than it bothers me. I try to be courteous about those kind of things, though. ;)

I once sampled a bake sale cookie that was made by taking a chunk of sugar cookie dough and pressing one of those little Reese's cups down into the middle. It was fabulous!

I'm glad it's only certain veggies that do that to me, not essentials like candy.

I love those cookies! Maybe you can try them with Kisses instead? We make them both ways here.

18. Halloween wouldn't be complete without mini Hershey's bars
and a walk through the yard just before dark to look at the silhouettes of all the old majestic oaks and maples that have lost many of their leaves by now. It just wouldn't feel right without the walking silhouette tour picnic for me.

As for plain chocolate treats, I love those little Dove Promises, too. But I don't think they've earned a place in the pantheon of Halloween candy--not like Hershey's.

tootsie rolls (if not too stale), really it was all good. Except for apples and those gross peanutbutter candies in the orange and black paper.

51. No. Not Skittles. It's going to drive me nuts until I think of it.
They come in rolls, just like Sweet Tarts and they're usually positioned right next to them, in convenience stores, for example. They're about the same size, hardness, and consistency as Sweet Tarts, the only difference being that they have a candy shell.

42. Smarties & SweeTarts
We weren't allowed to eat homemade things like cookies, though I'm sure the givers were being good hearted. This was back in the early 60's. I think the main concern was germs, rather than freaks poisoning the goodies.

55. It's close...
I've gotta admit, it's not Halloween without candy corn...the tri-colored little thingies, orange and yellow and white. It's also not Halloween without that orange or black wrapped candy...peanut butter kisses or something? I never liked it, but it's not Halloween with it.

The candy I always liked best...Smarties. My kids still give me theirs.

They also share their 3-Musketeers and their Reese's with me.

Such good li'l monst....er....darlings.
