I think this place is just too damn supportive, intelligent and full of good people.

Please give yourselves and each other a pat on the back. You deserve it.

Could someone write about others (anon) that give them a reason for staying in this wonderful place?

I've made so many good friends that are now in my so-called 'real life!'

I have learned how to express my passions more clearly ........

But I am sorry to hear about your brother. I am one of the lucky ones who survived a brain tumor. My heart goes out to your family.

Most of the people here at DU have been really nice to me. I've gotten a lot of "welcome to DU" comments which makes me feel really warm and fuzzy :) Lol it's really great.

6. I've been here a LONG time

and I will admit to being to tempted at times to "give it up" , but there are so many wonderful and kind people here, that it always draws me back.

There are also some of the smartest , best informed , compassionate and all around good people to be found anywhere.


DU has been there through the death of my parents, my daughters addiction, the angst of several elections and a host of other milestones.

I HATED when the old DU was "Changed", but we old timers adjusted.

I cried over the death of my dear Kef, Andy , Jeff and recently oneighty and Alercojon.

I have wondered what ever became of people like EFF Brandywine ,and others

I was talking to oneighty not long before his death about how we may never have known one another but fot the internet , and DU.

I love this place , and I love you

10. I don't believe I've been a support to you, MoseyWalker.

But I understand what you mean. I found this place after the '04 elections, and was friendly. But when my world fell apart in March, I came here for the support my friends and family were unable to give. Months have passed and to my immense surprise, I have found friends, real friends, among some of the people here. One or two in particular have held my head above water when otherwise I might have drowned. We are good people. You should pat yourself on the back, too.
