Poll question: Most washed up performer?
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:01 PM by undisclosedlocation
As in formerly famous actor, singer or other more or less famous person. So let's not have any jokes about porno stars having to wash up after (or during) every scene.

Inspired by Sci Fi Channel showing two separate Judd Nelson straight to Sci Fi or straight to video (which is worse?) this afternoon.

17. No way!
The Stones are old, but they still rock! And, they made a musical anti-B*sh statement! Remember this?

21. Duchovny did the "House of D"
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:36 PM by quantessd
which stank, so I hear. I had an idea that maybe that film was similar to "Showgirls", which was simultaneously terrible and entertaining, but I hear that "House of D" was just plain terrible.

7. Dennis Miller
I caught his act on HBO. You can tell that his heart just isn't in it anymore. He's probably regretting the past 5 years.

16. Not necessarily. Were the Stones or Stewart still taking risks, they wouldn't be washed up
Of the actors, by and large they are washed up through no fault of their own, but rather due to typecasting. Pointing out that they are washed up isn't to say that they are necessarily bad, nor is it necessarily a matter of pointing fingers and laughing. I feel great sympathy for most of them.

Anyway, thanks for kicking the thread.

23. And you are jumping to conclusions
What the hell is wrong with being washed up? Most of my heroes have never been successful enough to even be considered for washed up status, yet they're loved by millions, or hundreds of thousands, or thousands, or hundreds, which is a lot better than you or I will likely do. All being washed up means is that you were successful in pop culture and now you're less so. Nothing bad about it, nothing for them to feel bad about, nothing I'm gloating over. Nothing to make me feel better or worse about; nothing that affects me in any way, shape or form.

But of course thanks for kicking my thread again. Maybe you should ask yourself why this is such an issue for you? It certainly seems to make you feel better to jump to the conclusion that I'm a bitter failure gloating over the fall of my betters. You're only half right; I'm a rather happy-go-lucky failure.:)
